And the winner is....

Congratulations to L. T. Elliott, winner of the $50 gift code to CSN.

Hey all, I've got some cool things up my sleeves to help get you all excited about my next book coming out in April. Oh yeah. My kids are already jealous.

In the meantime, my brain is full. Officially. I'm trying to figure out how to put some extra megabytes in there to store more information. Any ideas?

Why does the phrase "...old dog new tricks..." come to mind? I refuse to get too old to learn new things.

The fact is, I have a lot to learn and I think I'm going to remember it all with sheer determination, low brain-power notwithstanding.

My question to you is, other than caffeine or other artificial stimulants, give me some advice for keeping the studying going and the memory running strong. Seriously. I need some ideas. I think my brain is turning to mush over here.

Oh yeah, and writing. Still doing that, when I actually get time. Time... laughing maniacally... what is that?

Nate uses flash cards, and when he feels his brain turning to mush, he takes a break. On the break exersice. :) Wakes your body back up. Also it helps to make the stuff you are learning funny. The funnier it is, the better you will remember.
Good Luck!

Thanks Robin. Uhm, at this point I don't think I know enough to even use flashcards. I'm going to have to graduate to that level. And, what I do practice dancing is different than the junk I'm memorizing, so yes, there's lots of movement involved, but it's still part of the study session. But I'm gonna get there anyway!

Hi Laura, I can so completely relate to your questions! "old dog, new tricks" especially applies. Technology is really trying to leave me in the dust -- but I'll likely die trying not to let that happen. I just read on 1saleaday.com the new buzz for the day: Apples work better than caffeine at getting your brain going. That's good news! I'm not worried about your brain, by the way! I think you're amazing! Be on the lookout for a package of green-ness to arrive in a few days. Love to you and yours.

Kerren- apples are a great idea. I should make that a regular part of my studying- then they would be a regular part of my diet. And, you seem pretty savvy when it comes to technology.

I am very curious about this green-ness coming. Exciting!

Hope all is well with you and yours!!

Hooray! Thank you so much, Laura! I know just what I'm going to get: a gift for my niece's birthday! (It was too cute to resist.)

Wouldn't that be so cool if we could actually add storage to our brains? I'd love to remember more. And I'm pretty sure mine needs an upgrade. ;) There's a story in this, I think.

Something that helps me is to try and remember the weirdest thing to go with it. The weirder it is, the easier it is to remember it! And besides, it's fun that way. Atleast, I think it is...

Oh! I just read what NateandRobin said... Pretty much the same thing!
